2020 Challenge Community Services Art Competition

It's time to launch your imagination in our 2020 Challenge Community Services Art Competition! People with disability of all ages, and young people in foster care throughout NSW are invited to enter using "Out of this World" as their inspiration.

How to enter:

Get creative using "Out of this World" as your inspiration!

We will accept the following mediums:

  • Painting on canvas
  • Drawing on canvas
  • Collage on canvas
  • Photograph on canvas or mounted on card

Please clearly label your artwork with the following details:

  • Artist name
  • Service provider
  • Contact phone number.

Artworks must have a maximum height or width of 60cm. Sculptures and 3D artworks are unable to be displayed at the exhibition.

Please take a photograph of your artwork to include in your entry form.

There are six categories to enter:

People with disability:

  • Ages 0-12
  • Ages 13-18
  • Ages 19-50
  • Ages 50+

Children and young people in foster care:

  • Ages 0-12
  • Ages 13-18

Each artist or group of artists must only submit one artwork, to one single category they are eligible for.

Entrants aged under 18 years must seek parental/carer permission before submitting their entry. By entering, Challenge Community Services assumes parental/carer permission has been sought and the parent/carer agrees with the Terms and Conditions in this document.

To comply with COVID-19 safety precautions, we ask that the delivery of artworks to Challenge Community Services is contactless, please leave the artwork as instructed by signage on the exterior of the site.

You can vote for People’s Choice awards in person at Ray Walsh House, 437 Peel Street Tamworth on Thursday 3 December from 11am - 4pm.

You can also vote via the Challenge Facebook Page.

The artworks with the highest number of votes per category (likes per photo) will be deemed the winners.

In the event of a tie between two or more artworks in the People’s Choice awards, the judge will determine the winners.

Entries are open now!

The competition opened at 8:00am AEST on Monday, 03 August, 2020.

Entries close Friday 13 November 2020 at 5:00pm.

If entries are received after the closing date, they will not be accepted.

The art exhibition opens on Tuesday 1 December from 11am - 4pm.

The Challenge Community Services Art Competition 2020 will include a physical exhibition at Ray Walsh House, 437 Peel Street Tamworth.

The exhibition will remain on display until 4 January 2021.

International Day of People with Disability celebration, and voting day will be held on Thursday 3 December from 11am - 4pm.

You are also welcome to vote online via the Challenge Facebook Page.

 

Presentation day will be held on Thursday 10 December from 11am - 12:30pm.

The presentation of the winners will also be live streamed on the Challenge Facebook Page.

The winners of the competition will be publicly announced at the Presentation Day event held at Ray Walsh House, 437 Peel Street Tamworth on Thursday 10 December. Following the event, the name and artwork title of the winners (artwork title only for CYP entries) will be published on Facebook and on the Challenge Community Services Art Competition 2020 webpage.
